Help:Wiki Style
From Literepetition
When styling pages for the wiki, please keep certain things in mind.
Contents |
[edit] Color
Don't use colors that clash with the current skin. Try to keep them in the same family so that it presents something that is pleasing to the eye. Don't use colors that are really obnoxious and can make it difficult to read, such as bright neon colors against white or dark colors against black. The colors used here as follows:
- #95131B is the shade of red.
- #000000 is of course black.
- #FFFFFF is of course white.
- #596159 is the dark shade of gray.
- #c5c8c5 is the light shade of gray.
[edit] Images
Feel free to upload pictures for use on the wiki. They help to capture the imagination and provide a visual component to game play that we can all share. However, when placing them on the wiki, don't make them obnoxiously huge. Try to keep them between 200px and 250px wide and 200px and 400px tall. Reverse that if it is a landscape (wider than it is tall) oriented picture instead of a portrait (taller than it is wide) oriented picture. Use quality images. If it's grainy and hard to see, please don't put it on the wiki. We'd rather have a few quality pictures that contribute a sense of image versus a lot of pictures that are hard to see.
[edit] Formatting
Dividing long tracts of text into section is not only easier to read, but visually more attractive. If you'd like to use headings, the following is how to divide them, list them, and mark them as bold, italic, etc.

[edit] Content
While this isn't strictly a style issue, what text is included in the content and the style of writing in it is. On character pages, a less formal tone can be used. Still, it should be kept clean, concise, and easy to read. This is an informational reference after all. It's okay to be witty. It's okay to have a certain personal flair to the writing that you place here. However, always keep in mind that it needs to be easily understood. Everyone in game will have use of this reference. Make sure that it is easily understood by the widest audience possible. Use good grammar. Check your spelling. If you have any questions about what might or might not be acceptable, please ask a game administrator. They'll be happy to proofread and assist you in any way possible.
