[edit] Biography

Born in Japan, to a half-English father and a full Japanese mother, Ayaka spent the majority of her life living in Tokyo, surrounded by the jarring contrast between traditional Japan and the glittering neon-world of modern Japan. Her father's English family was rich, and still living in London, but they never really visited. Her mother and her father's Japanese side of the family was virtually non-existant, her mother being an orphan, and her father estranged from them.

The English part of her family are the Ward's, and they're movie people. Old school, long term dynasty type of movie people. Mostly producers, and the ocassional actor here and there. Her father was a director in Tokyo that was involved with doing the classic epic martial art type of movies, big business, and he was fairly well known, and even more successful then known. When she was fifteen her mother and father died in a tragic accident on set of one of the movies her father was directing. No one's really certain how it happened, but at one point during the shooting, the warehouse they were in caught fire, and no one was able to get out due to some unknown reason. Ayaka blames ghosts. People had talked about how doing this movie was a bad idea.

When news of the death reached her family in London, they snatched her up, sending her father's cousin to get her. This cousin would become her legal guardian because as her grandfather's sisters daughter, she was technically the closest relative that she had. While she had a single legal guardian, the whole family lived in a sprawling estate in London. The adjustment to life outside of Tokyo was hard, and she turned inwards on herself, exploring the darker aspects of life. In fact, she became down right obsessed with darker things. Ghosts, Jack the Ripper, serial killers, vampires. Anything that called to the more violent, frightening, goes bump in the night thing became something she was anamoured with. And with the family being in movies, she had a very logical, and easily accessed medium to use. Mostly she's directed and written underground stuff for people in London, nothing that's ever gotten out of the city. But she still plugs away at it.

After her freshman year at Cambridge she decided suddenly that she didn't want to be in England any more. No reason, just something tugged at her and in speaking with her long time pen pal, she found out her friend was going to Meridian in New York. Having always wanted to meet her friend, as well as go to America, she convinced her guardian to allow her to go. And she arrived at the first of the year, only have to turn around and leave again when news reached her that her great-grandmother had passed away. The woman was the matriarch of the family, and it was a must that she go to the funeral, and do the family obligations.

[edit] Reputation

Do you like my knife, darling?
Do you like my knife, darling?
  • Accent: While clearly Japanese, she speaks with a perfect upper crust British accent.
  • Weaponry: Passingly familiar with various oriental weaponry, she even has a small collection in her room on display.
  • Ghost Stories: She's evidently quite happy with sharing ghost stories, mostly from Japan, but if a special request is placed, from anywhere.

[edit] Special Notes

The Ward Family is a famous movie business family in England. Various different members are in the industry, and there has been some bleed over into American cinema more in the last ten years. They have connections to the industry all over Europe, limited contacts in the Asian market, and are starting to forge strong contacts in the States.

[edit] Rumors

Rumor has it...

  • ... she made a fan-version of Audition that made Takashi Miike have nightmares.
  • ... she's really a ghost sent to consume people's souls.
  • ... her parents weren't killed by a curse like she claims, they were really killed by the Yakuza.

[edit] Relationships

[edit] The Worthy

  • Ryu - I..
  • Dearest Jane - Do you hate me now?
  • Wolfman - Where were you when I needed more talking to? Why didn't I pick up the phone? What a mess.

[edit] The Neutral

  • Ghost - Well, well, well...this could be quite interesting.
  • The Fan - You know who I am.
  • The Headless Earl - Scream for me.
  • The Furry - Furry porn, it'll be all the rage.
  • The Pagan - A woman who understands the allure of martial arts and the color black.
  • The Other Brit - Things got off to a rocky start, but they seem to be going just a little better then they were in the begining.

[edit] The Unworthy

  • Queen B - Right. Now we know where things stand. I'll be nice for Ryu's sake, but the irrational bitchiness has really made me decide you're not worth knowing. Maybe things will change, we'll see.
  • The Crazy - Apparently I attract insanity, but this girl just takes the cake. No only does she sit on tables, talks about people's shell, and any other number of crazy things, she's got the bones of a bird. Accidents happen, and while I tried to make it right, she wouldn't let me. Fine. I do not need her issues in my life. I have plenty of my own.
